I think it's a bit too low-contrast.

This caused an issue: using Windows with the classic theme, the window does not have a drop shadow; as this theme has no border, it sort of blends with whatever is behind it.

Also, it needs more "hints"; for example, games in the grid list should have information underneath and a subtle drop shadow (like Google Play Music, see pic).

Speak of drop shadows, the menus really need them too.

I addressed a few of the larger items brought up in an announcement on the community group.

A drop shadow on grid mode might work, I'll give it a shot. As for drop shadows on the menus, that's not something I have control over. Only Valve can change those. :/

i dont know how to have this style. I extract the zip as usual and all i got is the old Air skin. Is something wrong?

Did you completely remove your previous Air installation first? Give it another shot from scratch, the download should be correct.

Im trying to make a steam skin of the old recources from 2013, to make it look like before the update with the BLUE but they changed the layout and removed piston.tga in the top righthand corner, how do i put it back? Thanks!

You should be able to add it back into the file steamrootdialog.layout. The style tag "CSteamRootDialog" controls the background style of the main client. Add it into the bottom of  render_bg with something like:
6="image( x1 - 500, y0, x1, y0 + 200, graphics/piston )"

Where 500 is the width of the piston + the offset from the right side and 200 is the height + the offset from the top.

Let me know if that doesn't make sense, more than happy to help out :)
